Our All Ability Hikes are multi-day walking experiences across beautiful New South Wales, tailored just for you. Whether you want a gentle coastal trail, a forest walk, or a city discovery walk, you choose the destination, number of days, and when you’d like to travel.

Everything, from accommodation to meals and daily logistics, is organised for you, so all you need to do is enjoy the journey. Supported by NDIS, our guided tours bring exercise, laughter, and the simple joy of being outdoors back into your life.

Available to participants living within 25 km of Port Macquarie, NSW.

How It Works

  1. You Choose: Pick your preferred destination and number of days.

  2. We Plan: Our experienced team designs your itinerary, including accommodation, meals, and transfers.

  3. You Enjoy: Walk, laugh, and explore with our friendly guides and fellow adventurers.

  4. We Support: Your experience is fully NDIS-supported and designed for your comfort, confidence, and enjoyment.

  5. Small Groups, Big Adventures: Our All Ability Hikes are designed for connection, comfort, and personalised support. The minimum group size is 1 Participant + 1 Support Staff and the maximum group size is 3 Participants + 1 Support Staff. This ensures everyone receives individual attention, support, and a safe, enjoyable experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join All Ability Hikes?

Adults with disability who can walk unassisted and live within 25 km of Port Macquarie, NSW.

Are these hikes NDIS supported?

Yes. Our All Ability Hikes are designed to be inclusive and supported under the NDIS.

Can the trips be claimed on NDIS Plans?

Yes. NDIS Participants with Core or Capacity Building funding may be eligible to claim these trips through their plan. An invoice with the appropriate NDIS line item codes will be provided to your plan manager after the trip is completed.

Parents or carers are responsible for ensuring sufficient funding is available before the trip commences.


If you don’t have enough NDIS funding, you can still join the hikes at your own expense.

Payment Information

For NDIS participants, payment is due within two weeks after the trip concludes, once your plan manager receives the invoice.
 

For those travelling independently (non-NDIS participants), payment is due two weeks before the departure date.
Please note that payments are non-refundable if an independent traveller cancels after payment has been made.
 

We’ll confirm your payment details and timeline when you receive your personalised quote and itinerary.

Can I choose where to hike?

Absolutely. You can choose from beautiful trails and city adventures across NSW — including Sydney’s harbourside walks, coastal paths, and scenic parklands.

What is the itinerary?

Each day of our multi-day hikes includes a mix of walking, sightseeing, and local experiences.
You can expect around 8 km of walking per day on easy to moderate trails, with plenty of rest stops and opportunities to enjoy nearby attractions, cafes, or scenic lookouts.

Before your trip begins, we’ll send you a detailed itinerary outlining each day’s plan — including walks, activities, and transport details — so you know exactly what to expect.

Is the itinerary flexible?

Yes. We can adjust the itinerary based on the group’s walking experience, interests, and weather conditions to ensure everyone feels comfortable, safe, and has a great time.

How many days can I hike for?

You choose — from a short weekend walk to a multi-day journey.

Do I need hiking experience?

Not at all. Our friendly guides will walk with you at your pace, making sure you feel supported and confident.

Is the hiking difficult?

Overall the hikes are rated easy to moderate. We tailor the hikes to suit the skills and abilities of the hikers. The average distance covered per day is about 8km (3-4 hours of hiking).

Where do we meet on the first day?

We will pick you up from your home between 8.00am and 9.00am

Where and when does the hike finish.

At your home at about 3.00 to 5.00pm on the last day.

What do we do for meals?

You won’t need to eat out for every meal — we keep things simple, flexible, and affordable. Some home-cooked meals can be provided at a minimal additional cost.
 

Breakfast:
Cereal, toast, and sometimes cooked favourites like eggs, bacon, or sausages.
 

Lunch:
A packed lunch with a sandwich, fruit, drink, snacks, and a little treat — perfect for enjoying mid-hike.
 

Dinner:
Either a two-course cooked meal at our accommodation or a meal out at a local pub, club, or restaurant.

Participants will pay for their own meals and drinks when dining at cafés, pubs, or restaurants.

We’ll include meal details and options in your itinerary before the trip begins.

 

Luggage and Support Vehicle

All transport is provided in a fully licensed and insured electric car, driven by an experienced and fully licensed driver. Home Comforts Hiking also holds Public Liability insurance for your peace of mind.
 

While hiking, you’ll only need to carry a small day pack with essentials such as water, snacks, and any personal items.

Your main luggage will stay safely at the accommodation, ready for you when you return each day.

What to Bring for the Hikes?

– Small backpack with waterproof cover
– Shirts, pants, shorts, underwear, socks
– Hiking shoes or boots, and comfortable casual footwear
– Hiking Pole(s)
– Rainproof jacket
– Swimsuit and micro towel
– Money and/or Debit/Credit Card
– Phone and/or tablet, camera and chargers
– Toiletries and medication

What’s Included, and What’s Not Included?

Included:

  • All transport to and from your home for each hiking day or trip

  • Experienced guide/support workers to accompany and assist you on the hike

Not Included:

  • Public transport fares, where applicable — please use your own Opal card

  • Personal incidentals such as cafés, pubs, morning tea, drinks, or ice creams

  • Attraction entry fees, some meals, and accommodation
