Tour Pricing​

The BouddiHawk Walk is a 5 day, 4 night fully guided tour that runs from Thursday to Monday. Prices start from $1,720 per person (twin share) and vary depending on group size — smaller groups will have a higher per-person cost as expenses are shared among fewer participants. A $500 deposit per person is required to secure your booking, with the balance due one month before departure. Please contact us for an exact quote based on your group size.

Dangar Island ferry | Home Comfort Hiking

Day 1 Thursday — Cowan to Dangar Island

  • 8:30am Arrive at Cowan Station (train from Sydney arrives 8:38am, from Gosford 8:19am).

  • 8:45am Short briefing. Your luggage will be loaded onto the commuter bus and taken to Brooklyn Pub for safekeeping. Enjoy a quick coffee stop at Pie in the Sky Café before setting out on Section 5 of the Great North Walk, a 13km trail from Cowan to Brooklyn with a 450m ascent, rated moderate to hard.

  • 4:00pm Arrive at Brooklyn Pub. Collect your luggage, and take the ferry to Dangar Island. Check into your accommodation, then finish the day with a relaxed pizza dinner at Dangar Island Bowling Club (included).

Bouddi Coastal Walk | Home Comfort Hiking

Day 4 Sunday — Bouddi Coastal Walk

  • Breakfast at accommodation

  • Commuter bus to Putty Beach.

  • Walk the Bouddi Coastal Walk 8.1km, 450m total ascent, moderate to hard.

  • Lunch at McMasters Beach 

  • Optional afternoon walk to Avoca Beach, or take the shuttle bus

  • Relax at Avoca and then drive back to our accommodation.

  • Dinner at a local venue (Killcare area, at your own cost)

Day 2 Friday — Dangar Island & Hawkesbury River

  • Breakfast at accommodation.

  • Optional coffee at Dangar Island Cafe

  • Riverboat Postman tour. Ploughman’s Lunch included.

  • Dangar Island walk in afternoon (Optional). 4.3km easy.

  • Part of Great North Walk, Section 6, Patonga to Pearl Beach. 6km, 173m ascent, Easy to Moderate.

What are the group sizes?

The tour is designed for private groups only, from 1 person up to 10 people. Small groups are welcome, but the cost per person is higher as fixed costs are shared among fewer participants.

What are the accommodation and meal arrangements?

Accommodation is two nights in Airbnb homes on Dangar Island (Hawkesbury River) and two nights at Killcare near the beach. Couples have private bedrooms, while singles can request their own room for an additional supplement. Breakfasts can be enjoyed at local cafes or prepared in Killcare, lunches are mostly self-catered or at cafes along the trail, and dinners include a pizza night, a BBQ dinner, and two evenings at local venues (own cost).

Where Does The Walk Start And Finish?

We’ll meet at Cowan Station on the first morning or other pre-arranged locations. The tour finishes in Killcare at 10am on Day 5, with minibus transfers available to Woy Woy Station, Gosford Station, Terrigal, or along the return route to Port Macquarie.

How difficult is the BouddiHawk Walk?

The walk is moderate to hard for active hikers. Over 4 days of hiking, you’ll cover about 41km, with some steep ascents on Day 1 and Day 4. Less experienced hikers should be reasonably fit and injury free. Walks on Days 2, 3, and optional afternoon hikes are easier.

Packing Essentials

Bring a small daypack, sturdy hiking shoes, hat, rain jacket, water bottles, swimwear, personal items including sunscreen, and up to three bags for luggage transfer (strict limits apply). A detailed list will be sent before your trip.

What is the Luggage Limit?

Each guest can bring three bags: one daypack, one small bag up to 10kg, and one insulated food bag up to 5kg. A surcharge applies for excess luggage.

Do I need to carry my luggage?

No. A support vehicle transfers your luggage between accommodations. You only carry a daypack with water, snacks, and essentials.
