But planning it yourself can be daunting with four days of walking, multiple river crossings, luggage logistics, and accommodation bookings. The Yuraygir Coastal Walk is a 5 day, 4 night tour available for private groups of up to 11 people. Prices start from $1,590 per person (twin/queen share with shared bathrooms, meals not included) based on 10 guests. 1.30pm Meet at  Red Rock

2.00pm Bus leaves Red Rock

3.30pm Arrive at Yamba accommodation. Free time till 5.30pm.

Minnie Water to Wooli | Home Comforts Hikng

Day 4 — Minnie Water to Wooli

9.00am Transfer to hike start at Minnie Waters to Wooli (14km, rated Moderate)

3.00pm Arrive Wooli accommodation

Canoes / kayaks available – explore Wooli River

6.00pm Dinner at Wooli Pub (own cost)

Angourie to Brooms Head | Home Comforts Hikng

Day 2 — Angourie to Brooms Head

8.30am Transfer to start of walk at Mara Creek (Angourie)

9.00am Start walking to Brooms Head (17km, rated Moderate to Hard)

Accommodation at Brooms Head. 

Dinner at Bowling Club (Chinese, own cost)

Wooli to Red Rock | Home Comforts Hikng

Day 5 — Wooli to Red Rock

8.30am Boat crossing

9.00am Start walking to Red Rock (12km, Rated Hard). The first 4-5km is the most difficult part of the walk. There are many rock platforms, plus some scrambling and bush bashing. It will be close to low tide.

Lunch prior to reaching Station Creek

3.00pm Walk finishes. Drive home.

Brooms Head to Minnie Water | Home Comforts Hikng

Day 3 — Brooms Head to Minnie Water

8.30am  Start walking at about 8.30am, to Minnie Water (19km, rated hard).
Arrive at Sandon around lunch time. River crossing is arranged. 
(Note: Our support vehicle can pick you up at Sandon and take you to the accommodation at Wooli, if you don’t want to walk the last 11km, after lunch).

The maximum group size is 11 people plus the guide/driver. 

Accommodation

We’ve upgraded our accommodation to offer four levels of comfort, catering for singles, couples, and friends. Options include private queen or twin rooms, shared facilities, or larger ensuite rooms for those who prefer extra space and privacy. Bed linen and towels are provided at every stop, and each evening you’ll enjoy the warm hospitality of the coastal communities along the track. Where Do The Tours Start And Finish?

  • You can meet at Red Rock Store at 1:30pm on Day 1 for bus transfer, or go straight to your Yamba accommodation between 4:00–5:00pm.

  • ​The walk finishes at Red Rock around 3:00pm on Day 5, where your car will be waiting.

Meals

After arriving in Yamba, you’ll have time to shop for breakfast, morning tea, and lunch supplies. Yamba offers the best selection, including a popular Farmers Market on Wednesday mornings, while smaller stores are available at Brooms Head, Minnie Waters, and Wooli (with limited stock). Remember that food may be unrefrigerated for up to eight hours during the day. Cabins along the route have basic kitchen facilities (except Yamba), and local cafes are also available for breakfast and coffee. Each day you’ll carry your own lunch, snacks, and water in your daypack, as there are no shops on the track. Evenings are easy, with dinner arranged at local pubs and clubs so no cooking is required.

How hard is the Yuraygir Hike?

The full trail is 65km over four days of walking. For experienced hikers it is moderate. For less experienced walkers it can feel hard, especially the final day’s rock platforms. Your pace is flexible and our support vehicle can shorten sections if needed.

Are river crossings difficult?

No. All three river crossings are supported by local boat operators, making the logistics smooth and safe.

Packing Essentials

Bring a small daypack, comfortable hiking shoes, hat, rain jacket, water bottles, swimsuit, gaiters, personal items including sunscreen, and up to three bags for luggage transfer (strict limits apply). A detailed list will be sent before your trip.

What is the Luggage Limit?

Each guest can bring three bags: one daypack, one small bag up to 10kg, and one insulated food bag up to 5kg. A surcharge applies for excess luggage.

Luggage And Support Vehicle

Your guide will pick you up each morning and return you to your accommodation each late afternoon. You only need to carry a small day pack with water, snacks and any other personal items. Your luggage will remain at the accommodation.
