Day 1 Arrival at Kii-Tanabe / Takahara Village

Arrive before lunch in Kii-Tanabe. Bus to the trailhead and walk 3.5 km to Takahara Village.

  • Ascent 430 m, descent 200 m

  • Rated hard (2–3 hours)

  • Accommodation: Takahara

  • Meals: Supper (S), Breakfast (B), Lunch (L)

Day 4 Ukegawa to Koguchi

Walk 12 km on the Kogumotori-goe Trail.

  • Ascent 670 m, descent 690 m

  • Rated moderate–hard (5–6 hours)

Day 2 Takahara to Chikatsuyu

Walk 10 km through cedar forests and mountain villages.

Day 5 Riverboat Tour & Shingu

Riverboat ride on the Kumano-gawa River. Visit Hayatama Grand Shrine, Kamikura Rock Shrine, and explore Shingu.

Day 3 Hosshinmon Oji to Hongu & Onsen Stay

Bus to Hosshinmon Oji, walk 7 km to Hongu Grand Shrine. Optional 3 km Dainichi-goe trail to Yunomine Onsen.

  • Rated moderate (4–5 hours)

Day 6 Nachisan & Departure

Optional visit to Kii-Katsuura Tuna Market. Walk Diamonzaka Slope, visit Nachisan shrines, Nachi Falls, and Seiganto-ji Temple.
